October is SOCKTOBER on Mainstreet!
This year, we’ve “paired up” with Sock Rocket, a Calgary-based sock company and social enterprise, to make a big impact! Sock Rocket has generously pledged to donate up to 1,000 pairs of socks if our community collects 1,000 pairs of its own. That’s double what we collected last year—so LET’S DO THIS!
Sock Rocket sells funky, awesome socks worldwide and donates THREE pairs for every pair sold to initiatives like SOCKTOBER, helping “Bownesians” in need.
Starting October 1st, sock collection boxes will be available at local businesses. It’s time to dig out those gently used or new socks and give back to those who need them most this winter.
